Dinah Hendon, Esq. – Executive Director
Dinah brings a breadth of experience to her work at WFP. In 1981, Dinah began her legal career in the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office where she was instrumental in initiating the first specialized unit to handle child abuse and sexual assault cases. She moved on to private practice as a trial attorney and specialized in landlord/tenant matters for over nineteen years. Dinah was an adjunct faculty member of Seton Hall Law School; has been a trustee on the board of Prevent Child Abuse-New Jersey for many years; and was recently reappointed for a term on the Supreme Court Special Civil Part Practice Committee.
Ellen Jo Gold, Esq. – Staff Attorney
Ellen comes to WFP with over 30 years’ experience representing low-income residents in New Jersey as a legal aid attorney. She regularly appears in the landlord/tenant court and is experienced in estate matters, family law, public benefits, and consumer issues. Most recently Ellen was honored by the Passaic County Bar Association with the Distinguished Practitioner Award for her work promoting and advancing the goals of the legal profession in the area of family law.
Janet Aponte – Housing Counselor
Having worked in Hudson County as a housing counselor specializing in tenancy matters for over 25 years, Janet has a wealth of knowledge about the issues facing tenants in New Jersey. Janet is familiar with the court procedures and all of the resources available to tenants in the County. She readily provides information and guidance to tenants facing an array of issues with their housing and their landlords.
Kayla Schneider- Program Assistant
Kayla was an intern at WFP and is now the Program Assistant. She is familiar with resources available to tenants in Hudson County and is able to schedule appointments for those clients who require personal consultations. As a public notary, Kayla also assists with WFP’s Estate Planning for Seniors program.
